6 Day Komodo Wildlife Escape
Set sail from Labuan Bajo into the dramatic landscapes of Komodo National Park, where rugged savannah islands rise above turquoise channels, coral reefs fringe secluded beaches, and the legendary Komodo dragon still roams in the wild. The UNESCO World Heritage-listed park encompasses Komodo, Rinca, Padar and numerous smaller islands, creating one of Indonesia’s most distinctive yacht charter cruising grounds.
Over six days, this itinerary combines iconic highlights such as Padar Island, Pink Beach and Manta Point with quieter anchorages, reef snorkeling, wildlife encounters and long afternoons on the water. The route follows established liveaboard cruising patterns from Labuan Bajo while allowing a private yacht to slow the experience down, adjusting each day around sea conditions, guest preferences and the captain’s discretion.

Day 1: Labuan Bajo
KELOR ISLAND | REEF SNORKELLING | FLYING FOX SUNSET
Board your yacht in Labuan Bajo and cruise into the island-studded waters west of Flores. Begin at Kelor Island, where white sand, clear shallows and green hills make an easy introduction to Komodo. Swim from the yacht, snorkel over the reef or take the short climb inland before continuing towards the clear waters around Menjerite.
Later, settle into an anchorage near Kalong Island for sunset drinks on deck. As daylight fades, large numbers of flying foxes leave the island’s mangroves and cross the evening sky—one of the region’s signature natural spectacles. Dinner is served onboard beneath the stars.
Day 2: Rinca Island
KOMODO DRAGONS | SAVANNAH LANDSCAPES | SECLUDED ANCHORAGE
Cruise to Rinca Island for one of the charter’s most memorable wildlife experiences. Head ashore with an authorised local guide for a ranger-led walk through the island’s dry savannah landscape in search of Komodo dragons and other native wildlife. Visitors exploring dragon habitat are required to follow local guide and ranger instructions for safety.
Return to the yacht for lunch and an afternoon of slow cruising towards the southern reaches of the park. Spend the rest of the day swimming, paddleboarding or relaxing on deck before anchoring within comfortable reach of Padar for the following morning.
Day 3: Padar Island + Pink Beach
PADAR SUNRISE | PINK SAND | CORAL GARDENS
Wake early beneath the dramatic ridgelines of Padar Island and head ashore before the heat of the day. Climb to the famous viewpoint overlooking three sweeping bays separated by rugged hills—one of the defining landscapes of the Komodo region.
After breakfast back onboard, cruise towards Pink Beach. Spend the afternoon swimming in clear water, relaxing along the unusual rose-coloured shoreline and snorkeling over coral gardens just offshore. The yacht remains nearby for a leisurely lunch, water toys and an unhurried afternoon on the reef.
Day 4: Komodo Island, Taka Makassar + Manta Point
KOMODO ISLAND | WHITE SANDBAR | MANTA RAYS
Begin with Komodo Island and a guided walk through another of the national park’s remarkable dragon habitats before returning to the yacht and continuing into its marine heart. Komodo National Park protects not only its famous reptiles but also extensive coral and marine ecosystems supporting turtles, reef fish, seabirds and marine mammals.
Continue to Taka Makassar, a tiny sweep of pale sand surrounded by brilliant blue water, for swimming and photographs before moving towards Manta Point. Conditions permitting, enter the water with your guide for the chance to snorkel alongside manta rays. Because currents can be significant in open-water locations, all activity remains subject to crew assessment and local conditions.
Day 5: Siaba + Sebayur
TURTLE WATERS | REEF EXPLORATION | PRIVATE YACHT DAY
Enjoy a slower morning around Siaba, with time dedicated to snorkeling, swimming and exploring the reef. The broader Komodo region offers everything from shallow coral gardens to more advanced dive sites, giving the captain flexibility to select the best location for the day’s visibility, tides and guest experience.
Cruise onward towards Sebayur for a relaxed afternoon away from the busier headline attractions. Its clear waters and coral reefs make the area particularly attractive for snorkeling and diving. Finish the day with sunset cocktails, a freshly prepared dinner and a final full evening at anchor.
Day 6: Labuan Bajo
MORNING SWIM | WHITE-SAND BEACH | LABUAN BAJO RETURN
Spend the final morning around Kanawa Island, where clear shallows and a white-sand shoreline provide an easy setting for one last swim, snorkel or paddleboard session. Kanawa sits relatively close to Labuan Bajo, making it a natural final stop before returning to Flores.
Enjoy breakfast or an early lunch onboard as the yacht turns east towards Labuan Bajo. Cruise back into the harbour and disembark after six days of dragons, reefs, manta encounters, beaches and remote island anchorages.
