7 Day Inner Islands Voyage

Seychelles reveals a different character beyond its best-known islands. Further offshore, forested peaks, granite outcrops, protected reefs, and privately managed islands create a more secluded cruising environment where nature takes centre stage. Silhouette and North Island offer trails and rewilded landscapes, while the Sister Islands, Marianne, and Félicité open up some of the archipelago’s most rewarding waters for diving and snorkelling.

This 7-day yacht charter is designed for guests who want to go deeper into the Seychelles rather than simply visit its highlights. The route moves between protected wilderness, remote anchorages, and underwater sites before returning towards La Digue and Praslin. With longer passages, fewer developed stops, and greater emphasis on wildlife and marine exploration, it offers a more adventurous interpretation of luxury cruising in the Indian Ocean.

DEPARTURE | PROVISIONING | SUNSET CRUISING

Day 2: Silhouette Island & North Island (Ile du Nord)

ISLAND WALKS | WILDLIFE SPOTTING | SNORKELLING

Sail roughly 20 nautical miles northwest from Mahé to Silhouette, the Seychelles' third-largest granitic island and site of Silhouette National Park, which protects 93 percent of its landmass. Anchor off La Passe on the east coast and go ashore to explore trails beneath Mont Dauban, at 751 metres the island's highest peak, or land at Anse Mondon on the more remote north coast. In the afternoon, cover the short 5.8-nautical-mile hop north to North Island, a privately run rewilding project where giant tortoises and coco de mer palms have been reintroduced since the 1980s; anchor off Grande Anse or Petit Anse for the night.

Day 3: Curieuse

MARINE NATIONAL PARK | GIANT TORTOISES | MANGROVE WALKS

Cross east to Curieuse Marine National Park and anchor at Baie Laraie on the island's south coast, a protected bay backed by a mangrove boardwalk. Ashore, a resident population of Aldabra giant tortoises roams freely near the old Doctor's House, now a small museum on the island's history as a leprosarium. The surrounding marine park protects some of the inner islands' most active snorkelling grounds.

Curieuse

Day 4: Petite Soeur Island & Grande Soeur Island

SCUBA DIVING | SNORKELLING | SWIMMING

Sail roughly 15 nautical miles east to the Sister Islands, known for clear water, healthy reef systems, and strong visibility. The islands are largely uninhabited, so the main experience is found in the surrounding waters. Spend the afternoon diving or snorkelling among granite formations and coral gardens, with time for swimming and relaxing aboard between activities.

Day 5: Marianne Island & Félicité

NATURE RESERVE | REEF DIVING | GRANITE COASTLINE

Continue a short distance to Marianne, a deserted, privately protected island southeast of Félicité known for its resident population of the Marianne white-eye and for reef diving that draws grey reef sharks and, in season, whale sharks; landing is restricted, so this stop is for snorkelling and diving from the tender rather than a beach visit. Move on to Félicité in the afternoon, anchoring off the island's north side, where granite headlands face across to La Digue, Praslin, and the Sister Islands. Félicité's coastline offers a quieter alternative to the more visited anchorages nearby.

Day 6: La Digue Island

CYCLING | BEACH EXPLORATION | WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS

A short hop of under 10 nautical miles brings the yacht to La Digue. Go ashore by bicycle and explore the island's quiet roads, traditional landscapes, and coastal paths. Visit L’Union Estate and its giant tortoise enclosure before cycling towards Anse Source d’Argent, where dramatic granite boulders frame one of Seychelles’ most recognisable beaches.

Day 7: Praslin

FOREST WALKS | SWIMMING | DISEMBARKATION

Cross the short channel to Praslin and anchor near Baie Sainte Anne. Go ashore to Vallée de Mai, the UNESCO World Heritage forest and one of only two places on earth where the coco de mer palm grows wild, before a final swim stop at Anse Lazio on the island's northwest tip. Disembark at Baie Sainte Anne by early evening, with the full route — Silhouette, North Island, Curieuse, the Sister Islands, Marianne, Félicité, and La Digue — covered in six nights.

Seychelles: 7 Day Inner Islands Voyage Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to charter this route?

+

The calmest conditions fall in the transition months of April–May and October–November, between the two main wind seasons. The southeast trade winds bring drier, breezier weather from May to October, while the northwest monsoon brings warmer, more humid conditions with lighter winds from December to April. Charter is possible year-round, but the shoulder months typically offer the best combination of calm seas and clear visibility for the longer open-water legs on this route.

Where does this charter start and end?

+

This itinerary departs from Eden Island Marina, just south of Victoria on Mahé's east coast, and ends at Praslin, near Baie Sainte Anne. Because it's a one-way route rather than a round trip, guests should plan onward travel from Praslin, which has its own domestic airport with regular flights back to Mahé.

What can be experienced on this route that isn't on a shorter Seychelles charter?

+

This route reaches islands that most shorter itineraries skip: Silhouette's protected national park, the private rewilding project on North Island, and the granite scatter of the Sister Islands, Marianne, and Félicité north of La Digue. These stops trade some convenience for more time in the water and fewer other boats at anchor.

Who is this itinerary suited for?

+

This route suits repeat Seychelles guests who have already covered the inner islands, or divers and snorkellers who want more time in protected marine parks and around private-island reefs. The longer open-water legs and one-way structure make it less suited to first-time charter guests who prefer short hops and a return to the starting point.

What is a typical day like?

+

A typical day on this route covers a passage that can run anywhere from a short hop of a few nautical miles to a longer 20-plus-mile crossing, followed by an anchorage focused on diving, snorkelling, or a guided walk ashore. Because several of the islands on this route are privately managed or protected, landing is sometimes restricted to specific beaches or not permitted at all.

What should be considered before booking?

+

Access to North Island and Félicité is through private resorts, and access to Marianne is restricted to snorkelling and diving from the tender rather than landing, so confirm which stops allow guests ashore with your charter operator ahead of time. Curieuse and Silhouette sit inside national parks with park fees and landing rules set by the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority, and the Sister Islands are privately held with limited shore access.
