8 Day Polar Odyssey
The Antarctic Peninsula delivers one of the world’s most remote yacht expeditions, where immense glaciers, sculpted icebergs and snow-covered mountains rise directly from the Southern Ocean. Beginning in Ushuaia, this eight-day voyage crosses the Drake Passage before exploring sheltered bays and wildlife-rich landing sites along the peninsula. Each day is shaped by ice and weather conditions, with Zodiac excursions, wildlife observation and time ashore replacing the fixed schedules of a conventional yacht charter.

Day 1: Ushuaia
EMBARKATION | SCENIC CRUISING | EXPEDITION BRIEFING
Board your expedition yacht in Ushuaia and settle in before departing through the Beagle Channel. Snow-covered mountains and the rugged coastline of Tierra del Fuego provide the backdrop as the vessel heads towards open water. The expedition team will prepare guests for the crossing ahead and brief everyone on Antarctic landing procedures, wildlife guidelines and environmental responsibilities.
Day 2: Drake Passage (South Bound)
OCEAN CROSSING | SEABIRDS | EXPEDITION EXPERIENCE
Continue south across the Drake Passage, the body of water separating South America from the Antarctic Peninsula. Spend the day observing albatrosses and other seabirds from deck while expedition guides introduce the geography, wildlife and history of Antarctica. Conditions can range from relatively calm to challenging, so the day’s programme remains dependent on the sea state.
Day 3: South Shetland Islands
FIRST ICEBERGS | PENGUINS | ZODIAC EXPLORING
Approach the South Shetland Islands and experience the first major Antarctic landscapes of the voyage. Weather permitting, launch the Zodiacs for an initial excursion among ice formations and wildlife before making a supervised landing at an appropriate visitor site. Penguin colonies, seals and seabirds may be encountered throughout the region, with all visits conducted according to Antarctic environmental guidelines.
Day 4: Neko Harbour
CONTINENTAL LANDING | GLACIERS | WILDLIFE
Cruise deeper into the Antarctic Peninsula towards Andvord Bay and Neko Harbour. Conditions permitting, step onto the Antarctic continent and explore the surrounding landscape with expedition guides. Towering glaciers and steep mountains frame the bay, while gentoo penguins and other wildlife may be observed from designated visitor areas.
Day 5: Paradise Bay
ICEBERGS | ZODIAC CRUISING | KAYAKING
Spend the day surrounded by the glaciers and mountains of Paradise Bay. Explore by Zodiac between icebergs or take part in guided kayaking when authorised and conditions allow. With no conventional ports or resort infrastructure, the focus remains entirely on the landscape, wildlife and the experience of travelling through one of the planet’s least-developed environments.
Day 6: Deception Island
VOLCANIC LANDSCAPE | EXPLORING ASHORE | OPEN-WATER CRUISING
Cruise north towards Deception Island, a flooded volcanic caldera in the South Shetland Islands. If conditions and visitor schedules permit, explore an approved landing area before returning to the yacht. Later, begin the crossing back across the Drake Passage towards South America.
Day 7: Drake Passage (North Bound)
OCEAN CRUISING | WILDLIFE WATCHING | RELAXATION
Spend the final full day at sea crossing the Drake Passage. Look for seabirds and marine wildlife from deck while reviewing photographs and highlights from the expedition. As the yacht approaches Tierra del Fuego, enjoy a final dinner onboard after several days immersed in the Antarctic environment.
Day 8: Ushuaia
TIERRA DEL FUEGO | SCENIC ARRIVAL | DISEMBARKATION
Enter the protected waters of the Beagle Channel and cruise back towards Ushuaia. Enjoy breakfast onboard as the mountains of Tierra del Fuego return to view before arriving in port. Disembark in Ushuaia, concluding the eight-day Antarctic Peninsula expedition.

+Guests can experience glaciers, icebergs, penguin colonies, seals, whales and dramatic polar landscapes. Activities are expedition-led and may include Zodiac excursions, approved landings, kayaking and wildlife observation.
Who is this destination suited for?
+The Antarctic Peninsula is suited to adventurous guests comfortable with remote cruising and unpredictable conditions. It is particularly rewarding for travellers interested in wildlife, photography, exploration and landscapes rather than conventional luxury-resort experiences.
