New Zealand

December – March

A New Zealand yacht charter through the Bay of Islands combines sheltered cruising, island landscapes, Māori heritage and relaxed waterfront towns within one of the country’s most celebrated maritime regions. More than 140 islands are scattered throughout the bay, creating a natural cruising ground of beaches, coves, walking trails and wildlife-rich waters.

This five-day round-trip itinerary from Opua moves from historic Russell toward Moturua and Urupukapuka before reaching Cape Brett and returning through Waitangi. Shorter passages leave generous time for swimming, kayaking, walks ashore and relaxed dining onboard, while the combination of island wilderness and culturally significant destinations gives the itinerary more depth than a traditional beach-focused charter.

New Zealand

November – April

Located in the far north of New Zealand, the Bay of Islands is one of the country’s most established yacht charter destinations. With over 140 subtropical islands, sheltered waters, and short cruising distances, it offers a refined and accessible introduction to New Zealand’s coastal landscapes.

A yacht charter in the Bay of Islands is defined by calm cruising, cultural depth, and natural beauty. Guests can explore historic towns, anchor in quiet bays, and experience a slower, more immersive rhythm. The region combines polished marina infrastructure with remote-feeling anchorages, making it ideal for both relaxation and exploration.

November – April

This 7-day Northland yacht charter itinerary starts and ends in Whangaroa Harbour, cruising south to the Cavalli Islands before exploring the Bay of Islands. Visit Urupukapuka, Moturua and Motuarohia for island walks, swimming and sheltered time at anchor, then head to Russell for waterfront dining and local history. The return journey follows the coast north via Matauri Bay, combining offshore scenery with relaxed afternoons aboard. Coastal passages and overnight anchorages depend on weather, with Matauri Bay particularly suited to settled conditions.
