SAMOA: 4 Day Lagoons & Island Escape

4 Day Lagoons & Island Escape
Samoa’s Apolima Strait offers an intimate yacht journey between Upolu and Savai‘i, where the small inhabited islands of Manono and Apolima preserve a slower and deeply traditional way of life. Manono is car-free and home to four villages, while tiny volcanic Apolima has a single village reached by sea.
This four-day route is deliberately compact, beginning in Apia before moving west to Manono and Apolima and concluding at Mulifanua. Shorter passages leave plenty of time for swimming, snorkelling, village visits and cultural experiences ashore.

- When | May–October
- Duration | 4 Days - 3 Nights
- Departs | Apia
- Concludes | Mulifanua
Day 1: Apia
CAPITAL WATERFRONT | SAMOAN CULTURE | WELCOME ABOARD
Board the yacht in Apia, Samoa’s main seaport and maritime gateway. Spend the opening afternoon easing into island life with a harbour cruise before exploring the capital’s waterfront, markets or cultural attractions ashore. Apia International Port is Samoa’s principal seaport facility.
Return aboard for dinner and prepare for the following day’s passage west along Upolu toward the smaller islands of the Apolima Strait.
Day 2: Manono Island
CAR-FREE VILLAGES | ISLAND WALK | TRADITIONAL LIFE
Cruise toward Manono, a small inhabited island just off western Upolu where there are no cars and village life retains a distinctly traditional rhythm. Guests can walk around much of the island, visit local communities and explore swimming and snorkelling areas, including a marine-protected lagoon.
Day 3: Apolima Island
VOLCANIC ISLAND | VILLAGE CULTURE | REMOTE SHORES
Continue across the strait toward Apolima, a tiny inhabited island formed from an extinct volcanic crater. Its only village lies beyond the main landing beach, creating one of Samoa’s most intimate cultural experiences.
A visit should be arranged in advance through local hosts or guides. Spend time ashore learning about village life before swimming or exploring the surrounding waters from the yacht.
Day 4: Mulifanua
WESTERN UPOLU | FINAL SWIM | DISEMBARKATION
Cruise toward western Upolu and Mulifanua for the final morning, enjoying breakfast aboard and a final swim where conditions allow.
Disembark around Mulifanua, one of Samoa’s recognised domestic port areas and the principal ferry gateway between Upolu and Savai‘i.
