Townsville Yacht Charter – 4 Night Itinerary
Immerse yourself in one of the world’s most extraordinary natural wonders and explore the pristine Great Barrier Reef aboard your private luxury yacht.
Depart from Townsville and cruise through the central section of the reef – an untouched region renowned for its vibrant coral gardens, abundant marine life, ancient rainforests, secluded island coves, and world-class fishing. Each journey is designed as a tailored luxury yacht charter experience, blending adventure, relaxation, and indulgence in perfect harmony.
Please note: Luxury yachts are based in Cairns, Queensland. This itinerary requires vessel relocation from Cairns to Townsville at an additional cost. Alternatively, guests may depart directly from Cairns.
Day One – Townsville to Orpheus Island
Depart Townsville mid-morning, cruising past scattered tropical islands towards Palm Island. As you take in the views, your private chef will prepare a gourmet lunch served on the aft deck.
After a relaxed afternoon snorkel among colourful coral gardens and marine life, the yacht continues a short cruise to Hazard Bay, Orpheus Island, where sunset drinks are served on deck as the sun dips behind the island.
Day Two – Palm Island Group to Hinchinbrook Island
Wake to a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a morning snorkel or paddleboard session around the Palm Island Group. By midday, cruise two hours south to the Hinchinbrook Channel, part of Australia’s largest island National Park.
Spend the afternoon fishing in the mangrove-lined estuaries for seasonal barramundi or chasing pelagic species around Lucinda Jetty, before anchoring overnight in the serene Zoe Bay.
Day Three – Zoe Falls to Dunk Island
This morning, the tender takes you ashore to Hinchinbrook Island for a short guided hike to the iconic Zoe Falls — a cascading waterfall and natural infinity pool overlooking the bay.
After breakfast back onboard, cruise three hours north to Dunk Island, a lush National Park island brimming with native flora and fauna. Enjoy lunch underway, followed by a guided snorkel at Muggy Muggy Beach, where reef fish, turtles and dugongs are often seen. End the day with sunset drinks on the upper deck.
Day Four – Dunk Island to Pelorus Island
Early risers can hike to Mount Kootaloo’s summit for sunrise, followed by breakfast onboard as the yacht makes way south to Pelorus Island.
Spend the afternoon swimming and snorkelling straight from the beach, surrounded by pristine coral gardens. Cap off your final evening with canapés on the sand and a private themed dinner under the stars, prepared by your onboard chef.
Day Five – Return to Townsville
Savour your final breakfast as you cruise back towards Townsville Breakwater Marina, arriving around midday to farewell your captain and crew after an unforgettable Great Barrier Reef luxury yacht charter experience.
