Day 1: Hamilton Island & Nara Inlet
SCENIC CRUISING | NGARO CULTURAL WALK | ONBOARD DINNER
Board your yacht at Hamilton Island Marina and settle in before cruising north towards Hook Island. As you enter Nara Inlet, the wider island passages give way to wooded slopes and a quieter stretch of water. Spend the afternoon ashore following the Ngaro Cultural Site track, where interpretive displays and rock art introduce the area’s Indigenous heritage. Return onboard for dinner and your first evening at a suitable anchorage within the inlet.
Day 2: Stonehaven Bay, Butterfly Bay & Manta Ray Bay
BAY EXPLORING | REEF SNORKELLING | UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY
Cruise along Hook Island’s western coastline to Stonehaven Bay for a morning pause surrounded by island scenery. Continue around the northwestern coast to Butterfly Bay, allowing time to snorkel at a suitable reef site before lunch onboard. Make your final visit to Manta Ray Bay, where coral formations and reef fish offer further opportunities for underwater photography.
Keep the day flexible so the most favourable site receives the longest visit. The captain will select an overnight location with suitable shelter, observing public mooring limits and reef protection areas throughout the northern bays.
Day 3: Blue Pearl Bay 1 & 2, Border Island & Tongue Bay
CORAL GARDENS | ISLAND HOPPING | SUNSET DINING
Depart early for Hayman Island’s northwestern shore and visit the neighbouring areas of Blue Pearl Bay 1 and 2. Enjoy a main snorkelling session at whichever site offers the better conditions, with a shorter second visit where practical. These are two nearby parts of the same coastal area, rather than separate island destinations.
Continue east towards Border Island for lunch near Cateran Bay and an optional swim or snorkel if time permits. Cruise south to Tongue Bay during the afternoon, arriving in daylight to prepare for tomorrow’s shore excursion. Finish with dinner onboard at a suitable anchorage.
Day 4: Hill Inlet
LOOKOUT WALK | TIDAL SANDSCAPES | COASTAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Time your shore landing around tidal access and follow the Hill Inlet lookout track from the Tongue Bay area. From the viewing platforms, watch the changing patterns of pale sand and turquoise channels, with time to photograph the inlet from different viewpoints. The lookout sits at Tongue Point above northern Whitehaven Beach.
Day 5: Whitehaven Beach
BEACH WALKS | SWIMMING | ONBOARD RELAXATION
Cruise along Whitsunday Island’s eastern shore and devote the day to Whitehaven Beach. Go ashore for a walk along the white silica sands, stopping to enjoy the coastal views and swim where the crew advises conditions are suitable. Return to the yacht for lunch, with the afternoon left open for another beach visit or quiet time onboard.
For guests wanting more activity, an accessible walking track near the southern end of the beach provides an alternative to another afternoon on the sand. End the day with dinner onboard, spending the night at an anchorage chosen for the forecast.
Day 6: Chalkie’s Beach & Chance Bay
FRINGING REEF SNORKELLING | BEACH EXPLORING | FAREWELL DINNER
Cross to Chalkie’s Beach on Haslewood Island for a morning combining time ashore with snorkelling at a suitable nearby reef site. Enjoy the view back towards Whitsunday Island before returning onboard for lunch. Chalkie’s Beach lies on Haslewood Island’s western coast.
Continue around Whitsunday Island’s southeastern coast towards Chance Bay, with passage timing guided by tidal conditions. Go ashore for a beach walk or explore a short section of the established walking track before returning for your farewell dinner. Overnight in Chance Bay if conditions provide suitable shelter, or reposition as directed by the captain.
Day 7: Hamilton Island Marina
MORNING CRUISING | ONBOARD BREAKFAST | WATERFRONT EXPLORING
Enjoy breakfast onboard during the final cruise back to Hamilton Island. Relax on deck as the islands pass, then return to the marina for disembarkation at the agreed time. If your onward travel allows, finish with a waterfront lunch or a stroll around the marina precinct.
